   June 2017

Dear subscriber,

The New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, adopted by world leaders in September 2016, foresees the development of a Global Compact for Migration, to be adopted by 2018. ICMPD is taking part in the consultative phase that kicked-off this April. Our in-house experts are closely following this process and will be sharing their insights and recommendations for the Compact in a new blog series. In this issue you will find the first two blog articles. You will also find a closer look at the latest EU return statistics and what they mean in a policy brief by ICMPD’s Advisor on Return and Reintegration. Finally, updates on our latest project news and publications give you an idea of what the ICMPD team has been recently working on.

Happy Reading,
ICMPD Media Team
